active safety

maserati stabi l ity Programme (msP)

If the car begins to oversteer or understeer, the Maserati Stability Programme (MSP) is on hand

to correct the situation. It does this by reducing torque from the engine and activating the

brakes, stabilising the car within milliseconds. The ABS system prevents the wheels from locking

while braking, allowing the driver to steer the car and maintain control. EBD then distributes

the braking force optimally between the front and rear axles.when the Sport mode button is

pressed, the action of the MSP is altered to allow more sporty handling – but without com-

promising safety. The cut-in threshold is moved upwards and the system concentrates primarily

on activating the brakes rather than reducing engine power. Given its enhanced power and

handling potential, the GranCabrio Sport has uprated MSP settings to maximise the thrilling

driving experience. Note that MSP is not a failsafe device and will not prevent accidents in

extreme circumstances; the ultimate safety of the car always rests with the driver.
