THE ULSTER RUGBY VISITOR EXPERIENCE

Since opening in September 2015, the Ulster

Rugby Visitor Experience including The Nevin

Spence Centre (NSC) has welcomed 13,351

visitors.

»

Staff have played host to two funded

programmes this year from The Executive

Office and Department for Communities.

»

»

The past 4 months, staff have hosted 1,269

pupils from mainstream schools and 429

pupils from Special Educational Needs (SEN)

schools. Each pupil enjoyed a stadium tour,

visit to the NSC, a hot lunch and a tag rugby

session followed up at their school.

On 4th May, Janice Heath from Wyoming

joined Tim and Cathy for a tour of Kingpsan

Stadium. Janice flew to Belfast especially

for Ruan’s last game. Janice was invited to

attend Captain’s Run, where she got to meet

Ruan, who gave her his shirt and signed it for

her. Janice commented about her first ever

Ulster Rugby game: “It was AMAZING, what

an atmosphere, the TV doesn’t do it justice.

What an extraordinary rugby club, I see even

more now why people call it the Ulster Rugby

family!”

In May, we also welcomed Owen, a Junior

Season Ticket holder and OUR Club member,

who won a recent poem competition for

him and his P6 class from Gilnahirk Primary

School to visit. Their prize included a tour of

Kingspan Stadium and The Nevin Spence

Centre. They also participated in an I-pad

workshop, creating a movie about their visit.

The class even had a very special visit from

Tommy Bowe and Marcell Coetzee while they

were here! (pictured below)
