65,000-square foot cancer treatment center is

at Pelham Medical Center is expanding with
a new facility, which will be complete in 2018.
Ground was broken in May 2016 for the $65
million cancer center, which will be 198,000
square feet and seven stories. With cancer treat-
ment and support services under one roof, the
new facility will also house research, education
and a healing environment for patients. Numer-
ous physicians will collaborate to incorporate
technology across the elds of research and
treatment to ensure that every patient receives
the best personalized cancer care possible.
e facility also includes a Medical O ce
Building and the Pelham Ambulatory Surgery
Center, Greer’s rst freestanding outpatient
surgery center. e facility is a joint venture
between local physicians and Spartanburg
Regional Healthcare System.

of PelhamMedical Center’s (PMC) emergency
room.
Located at the intersection of Westmoreland
Road and Highway 14 in Greer, Pelham Med-
ical Center is one of Greer’s most sought a er
medical facilities when it comes to convenience,
access and prompt care.
As part of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare
System, skilled physicians, clinical teams and
support sta contribute to PMC’s national
certi cation in care, such as receiving accredita-
tion as a primary stroke center in 2015, making
PMC Greer’s only primary stroke center. e
hospital consistently earns high patient satis-
faction scores and is nationally recognized for
these e orts.
PMC is a 48-bed facility that provides ser-
vices for a wide range of medical needs, includ-
ing surgery, intensive care, emergency services,
world-class cancer treatment and primary care.
e center has a full array of outpatient and
diagnostic services, and operating suites. All
emergency room physicians are board-certi ed
in emergency medicine and are prepared to
handle all emergencies.
In 2015, Pelham Medical Center was certi ed
with Primary Stroke Certi cation from the
Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program
and is Greer’s only primary stroke center.
Pelham Medical Center was recently rec-
ognized as one of 100 companies and orga-
nizations named e Best Places to Work in
Healthcare for 2016 by Modern Healthcare.
One of PMC’s achievements is the teamwork
embedded in the workplace, starting with
hiring committed and passionate personnel,
followed by careful training.
Adjacent to Pelham Medical Center is Gibbs
Cancer Center & Research Institute at Pelham.
Gibbs delivers comprehensive, personalized
cancer care to patients in one convenient
location. Gibbs specializes in medical oncology
and radiation oncology. Along with preven-
tion, diagnosis and treatment, Gibbs also o ers
genetic counseling, a center for health and
healing and a cancer survivor program. e
cancer center also o ers patient navigators, who
support cancer patients and make their expe-
rience easier by coordinating appointments,
communicating with families and health care
providers, arranging transportation, providing
nancial support paperwork, and arranging
language interpreters.
