Medical/Dental Systems Overview
Mexico’s Social Security System (IMSS) is available for citizens and expatriates who hold
jobs in the country, however it is recommended that you purchase private health insurance
as public hospitals and health facilities are overcrowded and understaffed. Private
hospitals and clinics have high standards of medical care.
Vaccinations
There are no vaccinations needed for traveling to Mexico.
Insurance
There are several private insurance companies, these provide health coverage for a
monthly fee; how much is covered depends on what plan you choose to purchase.
