produced a concentrate grading 51,9 % Cu
and 1 300 ppm Ag.
MOD has been actively exploring in the
Kalahari Copperbelt since 2011 with Mahumo
(previously known as the Corner-K deposit)
being its first significant discovery. The
Mahumo Stage One resource of 2,68 Mt is rela-
tively small (compared, for example, to the
100 Mt of Cupric Canyon’s Zone 5 project in
the same area) but is also the highest grade (at
2 % Cu and 50 g/t Ag) resource yet reported
for the Kalahari Copperbelt and Botswana
and remains open below the limit of drilling
(300 m) along its 2,4 km long strike length.
Results from the scoping study conducted
on Mahumo have been positive and have
indicated the potential for an initial 4-5 year
underground mine at a production rate of up to
40 000 tonnes per month. The proposed mining
method assumes two declines with mechanised
mining to access and develop underground
