Scotchman® Industries, USA, has developed
the CPO 315 hitch feed automatic cold saw
designed to achieve the highest quality of
cuts. The saw is a fully automatic circular
cold saw that provides uninterrupted cutting
on tubing or solids.
This machine is ideal for high volume and
short length applications that require very
accurate and clean cuts. The CPO 315 HFA
has a length tolerance of ±0.004 on up to
3½" diameter tube or pipe and up to 2"
solid material. This machine uses a 12½"
blade and has the ability to cut pieces as
short as ⅛" and as long as 90".
The hitch feed saw uses a 30" index
that can be operated at a maximum of 3
times. Optional form jaws can be used to
feed multiple pieces of smaller diameter
material for hourly piece counts in the
hundreds.
The CPO 315 HFA is a dependable
machine with a variable speed
feature, which allows operators
the ability to marry the feeds and speeds
to the job for faster cutting times and
longer blade life. The CPO 315 HFA
saws are available in ferrous and non-
ferrous models.

Launch of MagiZinc®:
the next step in
metallic coating
International steel producer Corus is set to
launch a new hot-dip zinc-based metallic
coating with superior corrosion properties.
In tests where corrosion behaviour has
been accelerated, corrosion resistance
showed to be at least four times as effective
for the same coating thickness as products
galvanized with zinc alone.
Branded MagiZinc®, the new coating
provides significant savings in total costs for
all applications that currently use thin hot-
dip galvanised steel with a zinc coating of
275g/m2. The great improvements in
corrosion performance made possible with
MagiZinc can be used in for example the
construction industry. Applications are,
amongst others, channels for ventilation
systems and cable trays in large commercial
and residential buildings. MagiZinc can also
be applied in the automotive sector.
