Crying was turning into whining. A man in a well-tailored
suit was tapping his rolled up newspaper against his lap.
The heads of passengers were rising from above papers,
books, to exchange bitter expressions. One woman
remained unmoved in her knitting.
A man with wild hair, in pajama bottoms featuring bears
and reindeer, tried to distract the toddler, also to no avail.
The little girl looked up at her mother several times, and
seemed to be embarrassed for her toddler brother.
“Be quiet right now! Forget the lollipop! Can’t you see
mummy is listening to jazz!” she yelled.
