Obituary.
SIR GEORGE FOTTRELL, K.C.B., Solicitor,
died upon the 1st February, 1925, at his
residence, 8 North Great George's Street,
Dublin.
Sir George served his apprenticeship with
his father,
the late Mr. George Drevar
Fottrell, 46 Fleet Street, Dublin ;
was
admitted in Easter Term, 1871, and practised
at 46 Fleet Street, Dublin, up to 1895.
He was a member of the Council from 1885
to 1895, and was a Vice-President of the
Society in the year 1892-93.
In 1885 he was appointed to the office of
Clerk of the Crown for the County and City
of Dublin, and in 1895 to the joint office of
Clerk of Crown and Peace, which office he
held up to the time of his death.
MR. MICHAEL J. O'SULLIVAX, Solicitor,
died upon the 2nd February, 1925, at his
residence, Railway Street, Cahirciveen.
Mr. O'Sullivan served his apprenticeship
with the late Mr. James Flynn, Bantry ; was
admitted
in Hilary Sittings,
1906,
and
practised at: Cahirciveen.
Appointments.
Mr. James O'Connor, Solicitor, of 1 Dame
Street, Dublin, has been appointed to perform
the duties of Clerk of the Crown and Peace
for the County and County Borough of
Dublin,
the appointment being made in
pursuance of the provisions of the Court
Officers
(Temporary Appointments) Act,
1924.
Mr. John C. J. Murphy, Solicitor, has been
appointed Under-Sheriff for County Kilkenny,
and he has appointed Mr. Charles Corcoran,
Solicitor, of 7 College Street, Dublin, to be
his Returning Officer.
Mr. George H. Pollock, Solicitor, of 35
Royal Avenue, Belfast, has been appointed
Secretary of the Incorporated Law Society of
Northern Ireland.
Mr. Thomas Early, Solicitor, 16 Henry
Street, Dublin, has been appointed Solicitor
to the Attorney-General of the Irish Free
State.

Under the existing rules, Hilary Sittings
terminate on Thursday, 2nd April, and
Easter Sittings commence
on Thursday,
16th April,
terminating on Wednesday,

Circuit Court Appeals.
It is desirable that Solicitors concerned in
Appeals from Circuit Courts should request
their Dublin agents to give them early inti
mation of the date named in the Legal Diary
for the hearing of the Appeals in which they
may be concerned.
After the present Sittings the next hearing
of Appeals from Circuit Courts will be in the
month of July.
