2017-2021 FINANCIAL PLAN



Created a map of the Cultural Corridor

that reflects the location of all artistic

and cultural venues, public art pieces,

and events to help improve citizen

awareness and allow for the

collaboration of artistic groups and

organizations to create opportunities

within the Creative Economy; and



Established Newton PopUp as a space

for artists and curators to showcase

their work and interact with the

community. This year’s PopUp included

3 more art groups for a total of 8 artistic

organizations participating.



Planned and facilitated Prime Minister

Trudeau’s visit with Mayor Hepner at

Surrey City Hall in March 2016;



Established regular meetings between

Mayor Hepner & Premier Clark; and



Facilitated successful representation

of municipal infrastructure needs at

two Big City Mayors’ Caucus (“BCMC”)

meetings and in an unprecedented

Federation of Canadian Municipalities

(“FCM”) BCMC presentation to Federal

Provincial & Territorial Ministers.
