As my life unfolds, organically, responding to circumstances and
changing with them, so too does my work. Sometimes the work
addresses an interior life, sometimes an external concern; always
it is a means to communicate.
Intrigued by the paradox of eternal truths in ephemeral moments,
I find myself increasingly drawn to exploring the antipodean
nuances of life in my work.
Aarti Vir studied painting for six years before
spending three years at the Golden Bridge Pottery.
She returned to her hometown, Hyderabad- India in
1999 and set up her studio. She is currently making
wood fired, salt glazed, sometimes functional,
sometimes sculptural work.
