Born in Hamburg, Ange Peter has been working at her studio in Auroville

for the last 16 years. After a seven month course with Ray Meeker at the

Golden Bridge Pottery, Ange left for Taiwan where she stayed for two

years. That is when her relationship with the Chinese dragons began.

Later, Ange did an apprenticeship in Japan with Haiyu Slipware master,

Shibata Masaaki.

She presently works with materials such as stoneware clays,

porcelain, ash glazes and 24k gold overglaze. Her work combines the

influences of West and East. In her work, Ange sees the dragon as the

manifestation of the energy that drives evolution. Compelling, fierce

and unafraid, with an undeniable grace,

the dragon weaves it’s way in and out of her work.
