Solicitors' Remuneration.

A letter in reply was read from the Lord

Chancellor's Secretary,

stating that His

Lordship hoped to arrange an early date

upon which to receive a deputation from the

Council on the subject of increased remuner

ation for Solicitors.

Court of Examiners.

Reports were submitted upon applications

by three law clerks for leave to be bound

under Section 1.6;

the three .applications

were granted.

February 25th.

Twenty-seven Members present.

Dublin Postal Arrangements.

The President reported that, with the

Secretary, he had interviewed the Secretary

of the General Post Office, for the purpose of

urging an.alteration to a later hour at which

letters are collected in Dublin for despatch

by the night mail trains to the provinces ;

that he had suggested the hour of 5 o'clock

for, ; pillars : and sub-offices, and 5.^0 for'

College Green and G.P.O., but that the Secre­

tary, G.P.O., in reply had : stated that the

one afternoon collection had to serve for the

Irish and English letters, and that the present

hours of 4.15 and 5 p.m. were the latest

possible hours so as to secure despatch the

same evening. The President suggested that

at four sub-offices in different parts of the

city the hour might be extended to 5 p.m. ;

promised to have considered, and he added

that letters bearing late fee of one halfpenny

can be posted at Westland Row in the green

pillar-box, and at Kingsbridge, Broadstone,

and Amiens Street, in special boxes attached,

to the night mail trains up to the moment of

the departure of the several trains..

Certificates.

Applications

by

Solicitors

under

Section 47 for renewals of their Certificates

were considered, and the five applications

were granted.

Court of Examiners.

Reports were submitted upon applications

by two law clerks for leave to be bound under

Section 16; one application was granted,,

the other was refused.

High Court Sittings, 1920.
