1948 (1 Mar.) An air mail cover from Shansi to England, on reverse bearing CNC surcharged on SYS $1,000 on $2, and Shanghai
Dah Tung print $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000 x 5, tied by char. ‘SHANSI’ cds, total rate $59,000. This cover was mailed on the first
day of the new surface postal rate and airmail rate (1st Mar 1948) which was changed from $11,000 to $14,000 for surface rate and
from $40,000 to $45,000 for air rate respectively. Photo

1948 (31 Mar.) An air mail cover from Nanking to Shanghai, bearing SYS Shanghai 2nd Dah Tung print, $20,000 and $50,000, tied
by char. ‘AUTOMOBILE POST OFFICE/NANKING’ cds, mailed on the last of the old domestic postal rate which changed from
$20,000 to $25,000, and air rate from $50,000 to $65,000. Very rare example of the mobile post office cancel on a foreign mail

additional SYS 3rd Shanghai Dah Tung print, $50,000, Frist
Union surcharged, $5,000 on $2, $10,000 on $20 x 3, each
tied by bilingual ‘SHANGHAI’ cds. The aerogramme rate
was raised from $85,000 to $250,000 on 1 Aug. 1948. This
rate was effective from 21st July to 31st July 1948. Photo
