THE ATLANTIC ISLANDS
5
Redefining your palate
These alluring harbors might have a few
cooking points in common, but the truth
is they’ll have their own gourmet signature,
revealing their essence on the first bite.
These mouthwatering delights may vary
from a delicious “cozido das furnas”
(a typical stew) that’s cooked by the
geothermal heat, to tasting an exquisite
“alcatra” (fish or beef casserole).
The vines planted into the rocks or
volcanic soils, deliberately delivers a
distinctive characteristic to the Azorean
wine. It’s not by mistake that UNESCO
considered one of these islands as the
vineyard culture.
