The Batman’s back and you’re gonna be in
trouble (hey-la, hey-la, the Batman’s back!)
Well, you’re going to be in deep guano should
you be any of Gotham City’s ne’er-do-wells.
The Scarecrow’s the leader of this particular
nefarious gang (voiced by ace Aussie John
Noble, aka Dr Walter Bishop from
Fringe
), but if
you’ve a hankering for bataranging old faves like
Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Poison
Ivy, then you’ll be plenty satisfied as you step
into the boots of the one and only Dark Knight.
If that’s not honour enough, there’s a new toy
for him to play with – at least in this fourth
instalment of this particular video game universe
– the Batmobile. Yes, the legendary Bat-wheels
are at your disposal as basic transport or in the
infinitely more enjoyable guise of weapon. This
is, of course, on top of your usual arsenal of
wonderful toys, which has been expanded for
this occasion, as has Gotham – it’s about five
times bigger. This outing takes place a year
after what went down in
Batman: Arkham City
,
which we won’t spoil as we reckon spoilers are
a dead-set Joker, erm, joke. Gotham’s denizens
have been sleeping more comfily, but not for
long as threats and an evacuation leave a simple
equation... Batman versus baddies!
Come, back in time (imagine twirly, swirly visual effects
here)... We’re in the fabled land of Tamriel, but long
before
Skyrim
,
Oblivion
and even
Morrowind
happened.
New for loyal ES fans is that
Tamriel Unlimited
offers
a completely connected MMORPG experience, so you
can keep tabs on friends, journey with them or just go
about your business solo. You start on a quest for soul,
as that slave-driving slimeball Molag Bal has nabbed
yours. If that’s not enough, there’s also the matter of
preventing the worlds of Nim and Oblivion becoming
one seriously hellish collision AND a power struggle for
control of Tamriel. You’re swamped!

Some think that if you’ve played one LEGO game then
you’ve played them all. That, however, is the sort of
thinking that caused the dinosaurs to become extinct
(no it wasn’t, it was aliens, duh! – Ed). While
LEGO
Jurassic World
does follow a similar template to previous
blocktacular releases, it has one huge addition. Actually,
it has several huge additions – playable dinosaurs! Yes,
you’re not just stuck as a puny human; you can get your
T-rex on and cause serious blockbusting havoc. Almost
as cool is that while this release coincides with the new
movie, you get to play through all four Jurassic Park
flicks. Hold on to your brick butts!
