TLBs being supplied to the agricultural sector, something CSE has
capitalised on by supplying a greater number of these units through its
mostly Agri dealer network,” says Kemp.
Invernizzi also says that, in a market where mining, the major source
of income for many African economies, has been in dire straits and
investments into infrastructure have significantly dried out, CASE is
pushing ranges that bring quick returns for the user of equipment,
especially in South Africa. “The best bargain remains the backhoe
loader. CASE has always been renowned for its backhoe, which also
comes at a very good price, especially when contractors are cash
strapped due to constrained order books,” says Invernizzi.
As far as prime models for CASE are concerned, Kemp says,
historically the European-made 580T was the only model available
in the South African market. In 2014, CNHi launched the 570T model
produced in India, which Kemp believes has proven to be a very popular
machine in South Africa. Invernizzi agrees, saying the CASE 570T model
gives a quick return on investment, and for that reason it remains a
trusted tool in the market. Some of the innovative features include
greater dipper breakout and dig depth due to the extendahoe feature
which comes as standard, as well as greater all-road capabilities due
to centre-mounted front axle differential and 100% rear diff lock.
Besides the backhoe loader, CASE also sees better action from
its skid steer range, especially the SR175 model, according to In-
vernizzi. CSE supplies both vertical arm and radial arm versions
across various capacity models. “Due to its economy and versatili-
ty, the S130 proves popular in the plant hire sector, while the bigger
SR175 and SR200 carry the favour of the construction sector. The
latter models are highly compatible in terms of fitment of attach-
ments,” says Kemp.
