in the United States, an alien who receives asylum,

meeting the legal definition of an individual who is unable

or unwilling to return to his or her home country due to a

fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationali-

ty, political opinion, or membership in a particular social

group.

from another country.

favoring blind submission to authority.

an economic system that permits the ownership

of private property, allows individuals and companies to

the formal removal of an alien after he or she

has broken immigration laws.

ideology—

a systematic set of principles and goals.

indoctrination—

instruction in the basic principles of a polit-

ical party or other organization.
