Kaki Foley's paper feathers and mixed
media door boughs are loosely fleur de lis–
shaped and deeply rooted in New Orleans
sentiment. She scours second hand shops
and estate sales for ordinary images and
materials that can be repurposed into
extraordinary works of art. She adds bits
of gilt and pieces of ribbon and twine that
elevate humble papers into sophisticated
things of beauty.
