Marine Petrossian
Marine Petrossian is an
Armenian poet and essayist,
whose writings and TV
appearances have made her a
public figure in Yerevan.
Her first volume of poems came out in Yerevan in 1993; she
has been translated widely, and is a frequent participant in
literary events, notably in France and Macedonia, as well as
Austria, Canada, the US and elsewhere.
She is a Laureate of the UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for
Artists Programme, and an articulate translator of her own
poetry and experience. The works here are the result of a
recent one-month grant to a retreat in New York, where she
translated her latest volume of poems, and performed in a
Trafika Europe event in New York City. She resides in
Yerevan.
Translated from Armenian by the author in collaboration
with Sylva Dakessian.
