In mid-September VSMC completed
the first phase of laying infield cables
for the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm.
VSMC started work on 3
rd
August 2013,
and completed the installation of the
25 cables within a month and ahead of
schedule.
VSMC was able to bring the start of the
project forward by temporarily using the
CLV Normand Flower, which had finished
the cable installation at Meerwind
Süd/Ost offshore wind farm ahead of
schedule. The works at Nordsee Ost will
continue as planned into 2014.
The Nordsee Ost wind farm consists of 48
wind turbines and has a total capacity
of 295MW. Nordsee Ost OWF is situated
in the German Bight, the south-eastern
part of the North Sea.
