o f the Sound.

battle, but without likelihood of any hostile

intent. On the first appearance o f this fleef,

the Commander o f the fortrefs o f Cronborg

was asked whether the Exped ition was al­

lowed to pafs the Sound ; he answered, he

was ordered not to attempt any kind o f resi­

stance.
