T
he Haralson Chamber of Commerce
in 2012 established a Five-Year Eco-
nomic Development Plan for Haral-
son County. The chamber recently enlisted
Retail Strategies, a national leader in the
municipal retail field, to work with retail-
ers, developers and brokers to entice more
stores that will be in sync with other busi-
nesses in the county.
“They will look at our market from a
data and capital approach and give us an
analysis, like any other restaurant, to com-
pare us with other markets from a capital
standpoint,” said Eric McDonald, president
and CEO of the Greater Haralson Chamber
of Commerce.
The plan is to secure 1,500 new jobs and
$50 million in new payroll during the next
five years.
“A lot of that type of growth will be
around the interstate,” said McDonald.
“But we also work with adjoining counties,
especially Carroll, in our quest to bring
more commerce to West Georgia. We have
fashioned ourselves after Carroll County
because of the great job that Daniel Jack-
son and that county have accomplished
over the years.”
