COURSE PREREQUISITES

Courses in Grades 10, 11 and 12 may have prerequisites for enrolment. All prerequisite courses are

identified in Ministry Curriculum Policy documents and no courses apart from these may be identified

as prerequisites. If a parent or an adult student requests that a prerequisite be waived, the Principal

will determine whether or not the prerequisite should be waived. The Principal may also initiate

consideration of whether a prerequisite should be waived. The Principal will make his or her decision in

consultation with the Department Head, Director of Curriculum, parent and other appropriate school

staff.

GRADE 9 COURSE PROGRAM

Students in Grade 9 at Havergal will take the following program. Note that there are two areas for

choice:

Canadian geography (CGC1D)

•

English (ENG1D)

•

French (FSF1D or FSF2D)

•

Mathematics (MPM1D or MPM2D)

•

Physical education (PPL10)

•

Science (SNC1D)

•

2 credits of art, drama, Latin, music, Spanish, technology, Mandarin

GRADE 10 COURSE PROGRAM

Students in Grade 10 at Havergal will take the following program:

Civics (0.5 credit) (CHV2D)

English (ENG2D)

History (CHC2D)
