Honeybee Gardens
We all love to listen to success stories that start off with an

by herbalist Melissa Buckley. Honeybee
Gardens was born out of one woman’s
desire to offer the beauty industry a

Melissa credits her vision to
realizing a “simple need”,
which was first brought
to light when she started
noticing her husband’s
daily skin care struggles.
Anytime he would attempt
to shave his face, he would
be left with a red, irritated
complexion that would
leave him frustrated and
uncomfortable. It was then
that Melissa leaned on her
knowledge of herbs and
she started creating herb-
based shaving creams in
hopes of relieving her
husband’s skin issues.
This opportunity allowed
her to experiment with and learn evenmore about the
power of herbs, and after many trial and errors she finally
created a cream that did not end up leaving her husband’s
face red and irritated. After she receivedmuch positive
feedback from other people who tried the cream, she took
her interest a bit further and decided to start a business
that focused on offering herb-based products that were
friendly on the skin and on the environment.
When asked about the journey that led
Honeybee Gardens to become one of the
most sought out natural personal care
products, Melissa explains, “It wasn’t
easy…and it’s still not easy. But I’m creating
my own destiny. It feels so good to finally
have my products –which were originally
formulated inmy KITCHEN– right up
there next to those well-known brands….
to have people write letters to me thanking
me for creating products
which are 100% natural
and don’t cause skin irritation
or pollute the environment....
to be able to give back to
my community by donating
monthly to no-kill animal
shelters.When I sit down and
think about it, it’s really a
dream come true.”
