International Activities at Teddies!

L6th anonymous

At the end of last term, the international and humanitarian societies joined

forces by organising an International Festival. The festival was to celebrate

the diverse culture at Teddies and commemorate the international portion of

the school for the day. Both societies decided to use this opportunity as a

fundraiser to raise money for the charity called the Edhi Foundation. This

charity is a Pakistan-based charity, which provides healthcare, education and

basic necessities to those in Pakistan who are unable to receive the minimal

basics for humanity. The festival comprised of food from a variety of cultures

including; Chinese and Indian. The matrons also very kindly donated some of

their delicious bakes. There was also a photo booth with traditional clothing

and henna for students to completely immerse themselves in the experience.

Unfortunately due to our proximity to Oxford Airport we were unable to re-

lease the lanterns into the sky. In total the event managed to raise an impres-

sive £350.00 for the charity.
