based model – it is purely empirical.
• It has the
advantage
that it may be tailored to
match the clinical observations, which
themselves inherently reflect the whole
range of complex processes involved.
• As with all empirical models, care needs to
be taken to ensure that it is not applied
outside the set of circumstances for which
the operative parameters have been derived.
