HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION COACH

SHARDAE FLOURNOY

Born in Nashville, TN but a Native to Georgia, I raised

in a structured but spiritual home. I have been re-

cording customized cheer raps for the last 6 years

withmany of the well-known All Star cheer teams

nationally and in Chile. Recently I was able to hear my

recordings on ESPN; what a blast that was!

I have been coaching since I was sixteen. My love for

children has been withinme for as long as I can re-

member; perhaps it stems from coming from a large

family. One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is

watching an athlete’s face light up after working hard

on a skill then finally accomplishing that skill. Anoth-

er reward is when they exit the stage after perform-

ing and come running towards me with open arms

and happy hearts because they did so well, not indi-

vidually but as a team. Moments like this are precious

and why I love to coach.
