Kafka’s Knife (six poems)
Dorta Jagić
Dorta Jagić was born in Sinj,
Croatia in 1974, and graduated from
the Jesuit Philosophy University in
Zagreb with a degree in philosophy
and religious culture. She has
published poetry, stories and
criticism widely, and translates
from German and English.
Jagić is prized in Croatia for taking
innovative approaches toward a new sensibility in Croatian
poetry. She has received several awards including The
Balkan Grand Prize for Poetry, in Romania, and the
European Poet of Freedom Award, in Poland.
