Michelin Tire Recall
I had a tire blowout, and the
Michelin tire looked as if it had
come apart at a seam. When
I took it to a tire shop, I asked
if there was a recall on the tire.
Although I was assured there was
no recall, I checked the Internet
and found there is, indeed, a recall
for the exact tire due to the problem
I experienced. I read nothing in the news nor was I
notified by the RV dealer, Ford or Michelin. Luckily, it
was a rear tire. If it had been a front tire, I may have
rolled my RV.
The recall is: NHTSA Recall Number 13T-012, issued
January 2014. For a tire to qualify for the recall, it
must be a Michelin LTX M/S LT225/75R16 LRE and
must be identified on the sidewall as MSPN: 25516,
DOT Sequence: B3JHAKEX, DOT production periods
(inclusive): 0210 to 2512. If you find that you have any
of these tires in service, contact your nearest Michelin
dealer right away.
