3 External configuration
Besides using obfuscation attributes embedded in the source assembly, DeepSea
Obfuscator 2009 can be instructed to apply several obfuscation features using an
external configuration file.
This is the approach of choice in case the sources of the assembly are not available.
The external configuration file is an XML file that is created using the External
Configuration tab of DeepSea Obfuscator 2009.
3.1 Creating and external configuration file
To create an external configuration do the following:
1. Start DeepSea Obfuscator 2009
2. Load the assembly or assemblies you want to configure
3. Go to the External Configuration tab
4. Go to the node representing the assembly, namespace, type or member for which you
want to apply a specific configuration
5. Select the desired setting on the right
6. Save the configuration file
