Contech realigns business segments
Contech Engineered Solutions, Ohio,
USA, has announced changes to its
business segments to more closely
support the company’s strategic
direction and growth objectives. The
new segments are Pipe Solutions,
Treatment Solutions, and Structure
Solutions.
The realignment of the business
segments, by product technology,
provides a structure that will deliver
enhanced custom solutions within the
expanding number of markets served.
The Pipe Solutions segment includes
corrugated metal pipe, DuroMaxx,
PVC, HDPE, and reline products;
the Treatment Solutions segment
includes stormwater and wastewater
treatment products; and the Structure
Solutions segment includes precast,
plate, and truss bridges, pile and
sheeting products, keystone retaining
walls, and Armortec erosion control
products.
“The changes announced today are
another example of how our structure
remains aligned with Contech’s
strategic plan,” commented said Ron
Keating, Contech’s president and chief
executive officer.

the changing needs of our customers.

Sandvik to showcase solutions at ADIPEC
Sandvik, a producer and distributor of
tube, pipe, fittings, flanges, bar and
hollow bar, will be exhibiting at ADIPEC
2013 (the Abu Dhabi International
Petroleum Exhibition and Conference),
which takes place in the United Arab
Emirates capital between 10 and 13
November.
“ADIPEC is the largest annual gas and
oil event in the Middle East with more
than 51,000 visitors expected to attend
the first official annual 2013 show after
its record-breaking year in 2012,” said
Haydn Eagle, Sandvik regional director,
UK, Ireland, Middle East and North
Africa (MENA) and Turkey.
“Sandvik is proud to be among the
prestigious brands at the show and
this is an ideal opportunity to exhibit
our comprehensive stainless steel tube
and pipe stock programme to the wider
industry. Visitors have an exclusive
chance to discuss our wide-ranging

products are used extensively in the
most demanding, corrosive and high-
pressure environments.”
Sandvik has a comprehensive product
portfolio for oil and gas applications,
ranging from seamless and welded tube
and pipe and coil tubing, to
fittings and flanges, round bar
and hollow bar, and socket
weld fittings.
Sandvik SAF 2507™ is a
Super Duplex, austenitic
ferritic stainless steel product
designed for highly corrosive
conditions. It has been used
as seamless tubing in subsea
umbilicals over the past 15
years. The steel has high
resistance to pitting corrosion
and stress corrosion cracking
(SCC) in chloride-bearing
environments, and its proof
strength is nearly twice that
of high-alloy austenitic steels.
In addition to Super Duplex
materials, Sandvik’s Hyper
Duplex stainless steel grades
include Sandvik SAF 3207 HD, which
enables the use of seamless tubes
with higher yield strengths to withstand
increased pressure.
The Super Duplex and Hyper Duplex
steels have clean metallurgies for thinner
wall umbilicals and reduced equipment
weights and sizes.
High-alloy materials such as Sanicro 28
can withstand aggressive and corrosive
environments, with resistance to
severe conditions containing hydrogen
sulphides, carbon dioxide and chlorides,
such as sour well environments. Sandvik
uses metallurgically based hot isostatic
pressing (HIP) to make complex
components such as manifold, swivels
or wye-pieces.
The materials have all been fully
performance tested in accordance
with ISO/EN and ANSI/ASME industry
standards.
On Stand No 4336 in Hall 4, ADIPEC
visitors can become more familiar with
Sandvik’s services, which include tests
and spectrotests of material hardness;
full laboratory services; cutting with
bar sawn blanks and automatic cutting
machines of up to 600mm diameter;
packing with colour coding, stencilling
and vibro-etching; PVC coatings; and
full documentation for import and export
of Sandvik products.
