HEALTH & SAFETY REPORT

2016

24

As a result, the 2015 year-end position does show some improvement with year-on-year reductions across all

three categories of SC maintenance backlog, particularly the corrective backlog figure, suggesting that instances

of failed or degraded SECE are being resolved more effectively.

Also worth noting is that the 2015 data set represents figures from a higher number of operators and installations,

making the results significantly more representative of industry performance than they may previously have been.

Participation in the scheme had been decreasing from 2012 to 2014, prompting Oil & Gas UK to encourage more

companies to contribute. The average number of installations covered by the data increased from 133 in 2014 to

195 in 2015.

Given the maturity of the industry asset integrity KPI scheme, Oil & Gas UK has set up a task and finish work group

to review the scheme with a view to identifying and implementing any improvements required. That group will

seek to develop a revised scheme ready for implementation in 2017.
