JAMIE WARD

month as a replacement for Per-Mathias Hogmo

who paid the price for a dismal start to the World

Cup qualifying campaign.

“We know they're not a bad team,” insisted Ward.

“They've also just appointed a new manager so

there'll be a reaction to that.

“Our game plan will be to keep them quiet and

focus on what we do best.

“We have a group of players who will run through

brick walls for each other which is half the battle.

We also know when the fans get behind us it

makes it really tough for visiting teams.”

Ward, who missed November's thumping 4-0

win over Azerbaijan in Belfast with a fractured

wrist, believes O'Neill's men can be satisfied

with their seven point return from the opening

four games.

“I don't think we can complain,” he said. “We did

lose 2-0 in Germany, although I think everyone in

the football world expected that result.

“I do think we got a great point away to the

Czech Republic and we've also picked up

two good home wins over San Marino and

Azerbaijan."
