There is no darkness
Which will not call
Its corresponding light,
There is no darkness which
Does not hold
The promise
Of more light –
And thus you gaze
Patiently,
Or you prance and jest,
Or you scare
The weak and the false,
But all along you wait
In the Certainty
Of Her Smile...

Sri Ganesh,
As Her Ambassador
Everywhere
You accept the offerings
In Her Name
And consent to all
Adornments
For Her sake –
But every heart knows
You are free,
Free to roam
And wander
And appear as a bard,
A beggar,
Or even a demon
When it is needed…!
But here you are,
Sri Ganesh,
Her splendid Emissary,
To bring Her blessings
And cheer
All hearts…
