Who is the Seer

And the Poet of Knowledge,

Helpful and Auspicious

Yet Unseizeable –

Your cheering minstrelsies

Are sung and danced with

Great dignity

And your sun-filled stole,

Your pearly braid, your scepter,

Your noose and golden goad,

All your tools and instruments

Are poised

Within an ambit

Of deepest peace –

And thus is your appearance,

Sri Ganesh,

Always an event,

A feast

And

A teaching…

Sri Ganesh,

Glowing at the Inner Source,

Calmly poised in the Dusk

Of the Cave,

You await,

With the gifts of nectar

Strewn about you,

Ever ready with your mount,

And the rope of white light

To hold the soul secure

For the transition –

It is all so finely wrought

And offered

About and around

Your figure,

That one grasps

The meaning of truer seeing,

Beyond the illusion
