In some ways Matthew Hedderson’s Dream Ride is more about the future than the past.
His fondest memory of his 2012 Tundra is significant: “The day I took my baby boy home
from the hospital” in it. However, his plans tell the tale:
“I plan to keep this truck for a very long time as I plan
to change and build it with my son as he grows up.”
Hedderson is building a Dream Ride Dynasty! His motto
is “stock is boring” and we couldn’t agree more.
Although he recommends that other drivers start with
rims and tires, he didn’t buy his truck stock so he began
differently: “The first thing I installed was a grille because
I wanted to eliminate the chrome on the front and start
colour matching black and white for my build.” He
demonstrates his tech skills while describing his favourite
accessory: “Headlights that I retrofitted with morimoto
H1 6.0 projectors, gatlin gun shrouds, morimoto 35 watt
6000 k HIDs, RGB halos, RGB demon eyes, etched lens,
klearz clear reflectors & TruLux black series switchbacks
with custom black and white marble hydrodipping.”
The headlights became a real draw. They “really seemed to attract the most attention.
People would compliment me about them and wanted pictures and info. I did the retrofit
myself so that felt good to be recognized. A lot of people ask me to build them the exact
set for their truck.”
What he wants to add next is always changing. Right now, it’s a Magnuson Supercharger
or “maybe even a 4”- 6” lift”. He also plans to “get more hydrodipping done on the inside
and on his tail lights.”
Matthew uses his Tundra for everything. Road trips, camping, off-roading, charity events
and car/truck shows around the Edmonton area. Follow Matthew on Instagram for more
