The beautiful Blades studio is a calm and peaceful place, set in the tranquil
countryside on the Berkshire/Hampshire border. All commissioned dresses are
designed, made and fitted by Catherine personally, and her welcoming nature will
ensure the ultimate bridal experience.

gown, perfect for you special day. Catherine works by appointment and can offer
timings to suit your busy schedule, with evening and weekend slots available.

THE HAT BOX
Weddings offer the perfect excuse
to dress up and finish your outfit
off with a hat or fascinator. Jean
Hutchings is an experienced and
well-trained milliner who makes
hats and fascinators using silk,
sinamay, straw or velvet; sinamay
is woven from the processed stalks
of the abaca tree and has been the
most popular fabric for several years now. Jean is happy for clients to bring their
own fabric for her to fashion a hat from and it usually helps to wear or bring the
outfit you have chosen for that special occasion, so that you can see the whole
ensemble. Jean will advise on which shape of hat or fascinator will flatter the
shape of the face, including if you also wear glasses. She will also listen to your
ideas and with her help and advice you will get the best look appropriate for you.
The Hat Box is a purpose-built work space and has all the equipment necessary
