event held at the Lighthouse in
Glasgow gave twelve up-and-
coming fashion companies the
chance to display their autumn/
winter 2012 collections to the press,
industry professionals and the general
public. Formed in March 2012 by Chris
Hunt, the Scotland Re:Designed industry-
led initiative aims to promote the Scottish
textile industry both internationally and
at home using contemporary methods,
whilst remaining true to its Scottish
design heritage.
The twelve exhibitors involved in the
project were chosen by a panel of fashion
experts including Sarah Murray, owner
and buyer of luxury fashion boutique
Jane Davidson, and James Gilchrist, CEO
of New York based menswear brand
Adam Kimmel. The chosen designers
travelled to New York in April as part of
the official Scotland 2012 programme
before returning to exhibit at home
with the aid of Creative Scotland and
the Scottish Government. Director
