Saint Martins, the designer has won the
fashion innovation award at London
Fashion Week spring/summer 2010, had
her pieces worn by celebrities such as Livia
Firth and Laura Bailey and has showcased
at international fashion weeks in Paris and
Milan. Maintaining the vision of fashion as
architecture that should closely connect
the contours of the body, Henrietta
presented her Hurricane collection with
structural spiral skirts and sharply cut
collars. Ludgate managed to keep a sense
of Scottish heritage in the collection with
the use of inky black sheepskin gilets.

Judy R Clark stole the show with her
explosive collaboration with MYBTextiles
which took traditional materials and
silhouettes and gave them a modern twist.
The award winning designer, renowned
for her use of Harris Tweed, vintage lace
and silk, has risen to success over the last
year after being commissioned by Ford
Motor Company to make a dress using
car parts. The designer has showcased
in Milan, Tokyo and Russia and has most
recently made a bespoke collection for
musician Emeli Sande. The avant-garde
collection, using Clark’s usual combination
of materials, was full of timeless statement
pieces. The use of layering, 3D shaping
and geometrical cuts gave the traditional
tweed blazers and lace cuffs modern edge.
The white lace gowns, featured towards
the end of the catwalk, hinted towards a
bridal theme and left the crowd in utter
awe.
