the frustration of having to increase the
volume of one’s music to worrying levels,
just to drown out the other noises all
around but the Parrot Zik headphones
possess technology that can eliminate up
to 25db.
One of the most surprising features
included is the ability to answer or make
phone calls, hands free, with the use
of the headphones as an extension of
your Smartphone. Once again the noise
cancelling comes into use, enabling phone
calls to be carried out with ease between
caller and recipient. This is done by sensing
and analysing the user’s jaw movements in
order to separate their speech from other
noises nearby.
The Parrot Zik has a touch panel, which
can alter the volume by moving one’s finger
vertically across it, or switch to the next or
last track by a horizontal finger movement.
To receive a phone call, you tap the right
side of the headphones. To reject the call,
touch the panel for two seconds. The
headphones will even stop playing music
when you remove them, and resume once
more when you put them on again.
The Parrot Zik is compatible with all
mobile phone brands, and even has the
ability to work with Bluetooth stereo so
you can be sure that such state of the art,
luxury headphones can be useful to all.
The Parrot Zik headphones are sold via
Selfridges, Amazon, and Harrods.

T
he iPhone 5, hailed by
Apple as their thinnest
and lightest iPhone
yet, has recently been
released to the worldwide
market. It has been redesigned
with a 4-inch Retina display
and, of course, comes bursting
with many other new features.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s Senior
Vice President of Worldwide
Marketing said, “iPhone 5 is
the most beautiful consumer
device that we’ve ever created.
We’ve packed an amazing
amount of innovation and
advanced technology into a
thin and light, jewel-like device
with a stunning 4-inch Retina
display, blazing fast A6 chip,
ultrafast wireless, even longer
battery life; and we think
customers are going to love it.”
The body of the iPhone 5 is
7.6
mm of anodised aluminium,
making it 20% lighter and 18%
thinner than the iPhone 4S. It also has
more pixels in its Retina display than its predecessor,
and the screen has been made longer as opposed to
wider. The iPhone 5 supports the speeding wireless
technology of LTE and DC-HSDPA and it has an
A6 chip to ensure the best performance from the
phone in opening web pages, downloading files, and
launching apps, as well as improved battery life. It
also has an 8 megapixel iSight camera, 25% smaller
than the iPhone 4S’ camera, and rather than using
a glass cover, it uses sapphire crystal that gives an
even clearer image. It has a panorama
feature which enables you to take
panorama images by moving the
camera across a scene of your choice.
These panorama pictures can reach
up to 28 megapixels. Making videos,
meanwhile, is further improved with
up to ten faces being recognised by
the video face detection and you
can even combine the act of taking
pictures and filming a video both at
once.
The iPhone 5 comes with Apple
EarPods, earphones designed to be
longer lasting and to have a more
natural fit within the ear. There is
also a new microphone system that
is noise-cancelling and uses a cellular
wideband audio that will make the
person on the other end of the phone
sound more natural than ever before.
Finally, the iPhone 5 also offers the
Lightning connector: a digital device
allowing you to connect to your
various iPhone accessories.
