Rudy, who came in second place,
launched her fashion company in 2008.
The designer has since launched her
own menswear line, been appointed
official designer of the Miss Norway
Beauty contest and showcased in
Delhi, New York andWashington DC.
From a military jacket and a piece
inspired by Facebook to a beaded
dress which took 300 hours to make
in a traditional haute couture style,
Rudy’s collection was definitely the
most varied. Rudy said, “To show in
Paris is a dream itself.”
Winner of the competition,
Christine Manthey, presented a
collection inspired by the coloured
houses on the island of Bruno near
Venice. Manthey mastered the use
of print, fabric clash and geometric
FashionChallenge
structure in her collection, which
showcased the full breadth of her
talents. The designer studied at the
School of Art Institute of Chicago
before interning under Cynthia
Rowley. Now, Manthey has her own
design company based in New York
City.“I hope to continue to take part
in catwalks all over the world and to
just keep on creating. I love it so much
and it is so rewarding to get support
and to know that other people love
my designs too.”
Each of the five designers
displayed great talent and there is no
doubt that, after showcasing in the
historic fashion capital of the world,
they will go on to achieve great
success.
