and for conferring new jurisdiction in famUy law

matters on these Courts and provides for other

related matters. Amends and extends the Courts of

Justice Acts 1924 to 1961 and the Courts (Supple-

mental Provisions) Acts 1961 to 1979.

To consolidate enactments relating to the social

welfare services administered by the Department of

Welfare.

To abolish actions for criminal conversation, entice-

ment and harbouring of a spouse and breach of

promise of marriage, to make provision in relation to

the property of, and gifts to and between, persons

who have been engaged to be married and in relation

to the validity of consent of a minor spouse for the

purposes of the Family Home Protection Act, 1976,

and to provide for related matters.
