vide attendees of the Conference with

some very practical and timely infor-

mation. As Community Managers, it’s

important that we our knowledgeable

about our industry and understand

the perspectives of our local exports

which we can bring back to the com-

munities we serve.

Additionally, you shouldn’t hesitate to

ask questions during the Q & A portion

of the presentations. Questions are

always welcomed, and as the present-

ers are experts in their respective topics

you can benefit from some very useful

information from these interactions.

Networking

The Conference and Expo is a perfect

opportunity to meet like-minded pro-

fessionals in a relaxed setting. Equally

important is the opportunity to culti-

vate existing professional relationships.

While we work with many profession-

als on a regular basis, it’s not often that

we get a chance to sit down, chat and

get to know each other. Keep in mind

that like you, the professionals attending

the Conference are also dedicated to

their crafts, so there’s a good chance

you will be working with many of them

for many years to come!

Follow up communications

While I’m sure we will all have a load

of emails and work to catch up on the

day(s) following the Conference, it’s a

wise move to spend some time solid-

ifying the contacts that were made

at the Conference. It goes a long

way to reach out to the professionals

you spent time with and give them a

sincere thank you. This can only help

continue to build your reputation as

a true professional in the industry.
