For decor, Jeanette moves her potted plants around
in stylish ways and arranges her own flowers. "I grab
whatever looks the most vibrant at Whole Foods or cut
greenery from my garden," she explains. "But it's the
lighting that makes the evening special. Around six-
thirty . . . that's the magic hour that I love so much."
Simple string lights hang from branches; the torches
are flickering and scattered assorted votives, hurricane
lanterns and candlesticks sparkle and glow throughout
the night. Ceramic garden stools serve as cocktail tables
and ottomans double up as additional seating. "I want
to be surrounded by the people and things I love," says
Jeanette. "Summertime – it's all about making
lasting memories."
