Jeff Sanderson, MD is a cornea fellowship trained anterior segment surgeon specializing in laser refractive and
intraocular procedures. As a life-long Twin Cities native, Dr. Sanderson returned to Minneapolis, to attend
medical school, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. During
college Dr. Sanderson was a four year letter winner in Varsity Hockey.
After finishing his Medical Doctorate, Dr. Sanderson completed a comprehensive medical and surgical
internship at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He then acquired formal residency training
in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, after which, he went on to subspecialize in cataract and
corneal surgery and disease management at the prestigious Pepose Vision Institute in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Sanderson offers a full repertoire of corneal and lens based surgery for vision correction including the latest
in personalized wavefront guided laser treatment. He has had extensive training in all of the newest intraocular
lenses used to both treat vision loss from cataracts and restore functional reading vision without the need for
glasses.
Dr. Sanderson also practices comprehensive Ophthalmology delivering care for patients with glaucoma,
diabetes, lid disorders, dry eyes, and a variety of ocular diseases.
Dr. Sanderson strives to offer his patients the most technologically advanced treatment for ocular disease and
surgical management. He has been involved in FDA clinical trials in Ophthalmology and has performed
research in the areas of glaucoma, cataract surgery, LASIK, and diseases of the eye. He has been published in
medical journals and has presented at national meetings.
Dr. Sanderson is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of
Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Minnesota
Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sanderson is very happily married and enjoys spending the majority of his free time with his 3 children (2
boys and a girl). Hobbies include outdoor fitness (especially bicycling), hockey, golf, photography, carpentry, and
technology.
