June is behind us now and the dry hot days of July have gripped us with no relief
in sight. The ABYA Spring Dinner Dance had a great turnout and it showcased the
extraordinary beauty and facilities our fine club has to offer.
Two weeks later, our island was invaded by our children, grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, and friends as Kids Weekend took over the club. The bounce house,
water slide, trick or treat and games kept all of our youngsters very busy and
amused. The soaking of the Flag, minus Randy Pagel (He will be dealt with at a
later date), allowed all of the kids the opportunity to soak Commodore Chuck and
I with ice water that took our breath away (Ian will also be dealt with at a later
date). The kids really enjoy subjecting the Flag with this type of torture as they
seem to be immune to water temps in the low 40’s.
Please make sure you participate in the many events that will be occurring at the
club during the remainder of the summer. It is starting to fly by and you don’t
want to miss any of these great events.
