MR. BERNARD B. HOY, Solicitor, died on

the 15th July, 1936, at his residence, Mount

Royal, Dungannon.

Mr. Hoy served his apprenticeship with

his father, the late Mr. John Hoy, Dun–

gannon ;

was

admitted

in Michaelmas

Sittings, 1919, and practised as a member of

the firm of John Hoy, Son, and Murphy, at

Dungannon.

MR. G. HUBERT B. KENNEDY, Solicitor,

died on the 22nd July, 1936.

Mr. Kennedy served his apprenticeship

with his father,

the

late Mr. Frederick

Kennedy, Dublin ;

was admitted in Easter

Sittings, 1901, and practised as a member of

the firm of Kennedy & Son, at 4 Lower

Ormond Quay, Dublin, up to 1925, when he

retired.

APPOINTMENT.

Mr. Frederick C. MacNeice, Solicitor, has

been appointed Solicitor to the Ministry of

Finance in Northern Ireland, in succession to

the late Mr. J. H. B. Gunning.

COURTS OF JUSTICE BILL, 1934.

This Bill, which has been amended on

re-committal, now awaits its report stage.

INTERMEDIATE

EXAMINATION.

The Council has amended Regulation 14

of the Regulations of 6th October, 1927, and

the Regulation as amended comes

into

operation in June, 1937. The following is the

Regulation in its amended form :

14. The Intermediate Examination shall

be on the following subjects, namely :

The Law of Contract.

The Law of Tort.

Elements of the Law of Real Property.

Book-keeping ; and

The General Practice of a Solicitor's

office.

OCTOBER

EXAMINATIONS, 1936.

The First and Second Irish Examinations

will be held on Friday, the 2nd day of

October. Notice of intention to attend either

examination

to be

lodged before

llth

September.

The Intermediate Examination will be

held on Monday, the 5th day of October.

Notice of intention to attend to be lodged

before 14th September.

The Final Examination will be held on

Tuesday and Wednesday, the 6th and 7th

days of October. Notice of intention to

attend to be lodged before 15th September.

The Preliminary Examination will be held

on Thursday and Friday, the 8th and 9th

days of October. Notice of intention to

attend to be lodged before 17th September.

SOCIETY'S PREMISES.

The Hall will be closed for painting during

the months of August and September.

The Examination Hall will be used as a

Reading and Smoking Room.
