August Special Election School Results Not Positive
Only three of fourteen school funding issues on the ballot for Tuesday’s special election
received voter approval. Two emergency renewal levies passed, as did one new
combination levy.
However, four of the five combination levies (operating or permanent improvement and
bond issues) were rejected, as well as two income tax renewals, two bond issues, a new
current expense levy, a new permanent improvement levy, and one new current expense
levy.
Resolution of Intent for Middle Grades Career-Technical Education
Ohio Revised Code Section 3313.90(A) requires a board of education not providing career-
technical education for grades 7 and 8 to adopt annually a resolution declaring its intent
not to provide such training programs. A template of this resolution is available on the

Required Compliance Certification for Foods
and Beverages Sold at School
Ohio law requires each school district board of education to adopt and enforce nutrition
standards governing the types of food and beverages available for purchase on school
premises. Please note that schools are required to report compliance annually to the Ohio
Department of Education and submit the report by Friday, Sept. 30.
