read this, Big Sound
may well be over – but it’s
guaranteed to be a blast. Aside
from the fact sets only go for
half an hour, and there are
more than 15 official stages,
and there’s an average of
four-and-a-half hours of music
on each stage… well, you’re
going to get your 10,000 steps
per diem in just fine. You’ve
no doubt read our Big Sound
feature (and there’ll be plenty
of posts on STACK social
media to keep you up to date
as everything’s happening),
so let’s move on to other
great things for September (in support of their enormous
2015 album That’s The Spirit),
Irish musician Foy Vance – his
terrific full-length The Wild
Swan sent folk fans into a
spin earlier this year – and the
brilliant Ngaiire will be taking
to the stage at Melbourne's
Listen Out Festival. Take heart,
readers: it’s beginning to warm
up, and there are more and
more summer shows on the
