Margarida Vale de Gato
182
Birthday
So long ago I
wore a short dress we
climbed the steps I
in front without noticing left
my legs helpless to your
delight, we had drunk to my
future and it was an escape; you
offered me a record
that shone in a half-circle and it
truly thrilled us to flee I
was turning twenty you
glanced at my legs I
abandoned adolescence
not even a glance back you
watched my legs from behind. We
climbed to the roof I
wore a short dress we
were sad I believe you
faked a satire and we
ascended unarmed to the top.
